Terbinafine - Lamisil ®- Renal Dosing

Usual Dosing (Adults)
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Fingernail onychomycosis: One 250 mg tablet once daily for 6 weeks.

Toenail onychomycosis: One 250 mg tablet once daily for 12 weeks.

The optimal clinical effect is seen some months after mycological cure and cessation of treatment. This is related to the period required for outgrowth of healthy nail.

Renal Dosing
dialysis [CRCL>50]: No changes.

[<50 ]: Manufacturer: Due to lack of data, terbinafine is not recommended in patients with CRCL <50. NO SPECIFIC RECOMMENDATIONS IN CURRENT PACKAGE INSERT.

Package insert:
In patients with renal impairment (creatinine clearance <50 mL/min) or hepatic cirrhosis, the clearance of terbinafine is decreased by approximately 50% compared to normal volunteers.
