year risk assessment: This calculator provides estimates of the 10-year Risk of developing "hard" coronary heart disease outcomes (myocardial infarction and coronary death).
The results are based on data provided by the National, heart, lung and blood institute using information gathered from the Framingham Heart Study. This tool is designed to estimate risk in adults aged 20 and older who do not have heart disease or diabetes. All of the underlying tables that this program is based on can be found in this document: "Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Cholesterol in Adults (Adult Treatment Panel III)" located on the NHLBI web site. |
