Gastroenteritis Possible therapeutic alternatives
Gastroenteritis: Traveler's diarrhea Common pathogens
Ciprofloxacin 500mg po bid or
Ofloxacin 300mg po bid or
Bactrim DS po bid x 3-5 days.
Gastroenteritis: severe diarrhea Common pathogens
Ciprofloxacin 500mg po q12h or
Bactrim DS po  q12h. 
Pathogen Specific
Clostridium difficile: 
Metronidazole 500mg po tid x 10-14 days or  Vancomycin 125mg po qid x 10-14 days. 
Campylobacter:
Ciprofloxacin 500mg po q12h or 
Azithromycin 500mg qd x 3d.
