Length of therapy: 10-28 days 		Possible therapeutic alternatives
Gas Gangrene Common pathogens
Clindamycin 600 mg IV q6h or 900mg IV q8h
PLUS
Penicillin G 2-4 million units IV q4h
PLUS
Surgical debridement
[Ceftriaxone 2grams IV q12h  or Cefotaxime 2-4 gm IV q8h ]  +/- Clindamycin  600 mg IV q6h
Penicillin Allergy:
Clindamycin 600 mg IV q6h  or 900mg IV q8h
Chloramphenicol: 1 gm IV q6h
Erythromycin 1 gram IV q6h
